Whoever
said "there ain't no cure for the summertime blues" obviously did
not live near The High Street Grill. Gasoline prices are soaring.
Beach rentals are off the charts. The impending election is upon
us and the war that so many of our friends and family are involved
in, still lingers. We are in a time of change. This is a summer
to remember.
For
us, this summer finds us reaching the culmination of having spent
the last four years within the town of Mount Holly, and pretty much
within the four walls of our building. While we stay in one place,
our customers and friends come and go. The Grill has very much become
our "home" and you are all our visitors. Well, we welcome the company,
and hope that we make you feel "at home" in ours.
So
what have we got in store as we turn four? Last year we renovated
the dining room, and transformed a tired room into a hip but elegant
venue. Now, we are taking a new look at our bar, and giving you
more….more wines by the glass, more craft beers on tap and a face
lift that has been long over due. These renovations will allow us
to continue to grow as a destination. We started out with a mission
to create a restaurant that we would like to go to; that being one
with atmosphere, great and different food, a nice selection of wines,
and excellent beers. We will not stop until we have achieved everything
that is possible within the confines of our 200 year old space.
So look for these changes by the end of August when the Grill celebrates
its birthday……we are FOUR AND FABULOUS!
We
welcome our regulars to help us ring in the start of our fifth year
during our celebration weekend, August 21st and 22nd, with two evenings
of great events. Friday, Aug. 21st will be our Sly Fox Beer Dinner
with guests Brian O'Reilly, brewmaster, and PR Queen, Suzanne Woods.
Saturday, Aug. 22nd, we will be holding court with our Bacchus Dinner,
featuring decadence of the best kind…..a Roman tradition that includes
the wearing of ,you guessed it, togas! It's a Toga Party for grown
ups! OK, so you don't have to wear a toga, but don your favorite
Romanesque garb or headwear and come out to enjoy a feast for the
senses….details to unfold so stay tuned!
So,
change is upon us all the time. What has remained constant for us,
has been the strength we gain daily from the presence of our regular
clientele, who by merely walking through our door, make that day
a little easier with their smile. We share our celebration with
you and may our growth be an homage to all of your support. We also
have watched your celebrations as they create changes in your lives….on
that note, we would like to wish the following couples a very happy
wedding day and marriage as they take that step to the greatest
change of all…. Congratulations to Tara & Adam, June 28th, Tim and
Branwen, July 12th and Paul & Alexis, Sept. 6th….Best wishes for
a lifetime of joy! Go forth and prosper…and remember, we offer a
great children's menu!
